Get the facts

In many ways, the Vienna Declaration speaks for itself. In just two pages, it outlines how drug prohibition has failed, the range of negative consequences it has produced, and the Declaration’s objectives. But it doesn’t stand alone.

There are hundreds of organizations and thousands of people advocating for evidence-based drug policies the world over. The Declaration itself was written by a committee of more than 30 experts in drug policy, health, and human rights. Among the higher profile declarations are top level scientists, Nobel Laureates, and former presidents and police chiefs. Many of whom have authored blogs describing why they support the Vienna Declaration.

Click on the links below to find out what exactly the declaration calls for, what supporters and the media have to say about it, and videos that go into more detail on what evidence-based drug policy actually is and who is supporting it.
