Drug users are not iniquitous people by principle. Hence, the drug policy should be dealt with as a civil matter, not a criminal one. The State should offer information, and treatment, instead of turning users of certain drugs into convicts.

Many illegal “drugs” are medicines when used appropriately, and many harms come from pharmaceuticals as well as tobacco and alcohol. Time to be honest about what works for people and let them make their own informed decisions.
